“Eleven days ago, President Obama held this medal and presented it to the Yasui family,” Segal said. “Someone who walked these halls of this school is recognized as a civil rights leader,”
“The only reason I got this (history) award is because these students brought a voice to Hood River history. President Obama and a variety of people watched it, and these students were your community leaders telling the story of Minoru Yasui.”
